Understand Our Stamp

*Per Section 2303.2.4 of the International Building Code (2015), fire retardant treated lumber and wood structural panels shall be labeled. FlameTech Interior FRTW Lumber and Plywood is labeled after treatment and complies with applicable codes and standards. The label shall contain the following items: standards IAW with Sections 2303.2.5 through 2303.2.8.

  • Identification mark of an approved agency in accordance with section 1703.5.
  • Identification of treating manufacturer.
  • The name of the fire-retardant treatment.
  • The species of the wood treated.
  • Flame spread and smoke-developed index.
  • Method of drying after treatment.
  • Conformance with appropriate s

*The above FlameTech stamp shall be affixed to each piece of FRTW lumber and plywood produced, as required by Section 2303.2.4 of the IBC.
