Product Overview

Pressure-Driven Protection Against Rot And Termites.

Wolman® E MCA combines the natural workability of real wood with long-lasting resistance to termite damage and fungal decay. At the appropriate retention level it serves above ground, ground contact, and freshwater immersion applications — decks, retaining walls, fences, picnic tables, planter boxes, walkways, sill plates, and structural members.

Micronized copper azole uses finely ground preservative particles suspended in the treating solution, forced into the wood under pressure where it provides decades of protection. Copper is the primary ingredient, working against termites and most fungal decay. The type C formulation adds a dual azole co-biocide, propiconazole and tebuconazole, to handle copper-tolerant fungi.

  • Resists termites and fungal decay

  • Above ground through heavy duty ground contact

  • Suitable for freshwater immersion

  • Advanced type C dual-azole formulation

  • Light green color

  • Can be stained and painted once dry

  • Works with common construction tools

  • Home Innovation NGBS Green Certified

SPECIFYING MCA-C

Fasteners & Connectors

Get The Hardware Right.

Fasteners

The IBC and IRC require metal fasteners in contact with preservative treated wood to be hot-dipped galvanized. Observe the code requirements for your jurisdiction.

ASTM A153

The model codes require corrosion-resistant hardware in contact with preservative treated wood. This is the most common source of callbacks on treated projects.

Aluminum Contact

Aluminum flashing (3015 or similar alloy) may be used in contact with MCA-C treated wood in interior or exterior above ground applications that are damp or intermittently wet.

Above ground only

Immersion & Prolonged Wetting

Where treated wood is subject to immersion or frequent or prolonged wetting, use factory coated aluminum or place an insulating moisture resistant barrier between the treated wood and the aluminum.

Barrier required

Connectors

Connectors should be made from galvanized steel sheet. For Permanent Wood Foundations, step up to 304 or 316 stainless steel.

ASTM A653 Class G185

Dry Interior Service

Indoors and where wood will remain dry in service, corrosion is less likely. The model code permits standard galvanized strapping and mild steel anchor bolts 1/2" diameter and larger for fastening to foundations.

Model code permitted

Finishing

Once surface dry, Wolman® wood can be stained. Once dry internally it can be painted — specify re-dried material or allow several months of good drying weather. Light-colored latex over a brush-applied oil-based primer works well.

Do not spray primer

⚠️ Handling, Disposal & Proposition 65

Follow guidelines similar to those for untreated wood: wear a dust mask to control inhalation of sawdust, wear gloves when working with the wood, wear goggles against flying particles, and wash before eating, drinking, or using tobacco products. Saw, cut, or machine outdoors or in well ventilated areas.

Do not burn treated wood except in approved commercial incinerators. Do not use treated sawdust or shavings for composting, mulching, or animal bedding. Scraps, broken boards, and sawdust can go to ordinary trash collection. Do not use treated wood where the preservative may become a component of food or animal feed.

California Proposition 65 warning: this wood contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Some chemical may migrate from preserved wood into surrounding soil and water over time, and may also be dislodged from the wood surface upon contact.
